A San Jose, California, native, Ann Kim is the executive chef at the Garden & Gun Club in Atlanta. After training at Le Cordon Bleu, Portland, the chef cut her teeth in west coast institutions including Palo Alto’s JOYA restaurant and Los Altos’s Restaurant Zitune before transitioning to a career in catering and culinary consulting. In 2018, Kim relocated to Atlanta to help open the Garden & Gun Club, assisting chef Mike Lata in creating the original menu. Thanks to her Bay Area roots, Kim lends a unique perspective to the quintessential cuisine of the South. Her ever-evolving menus feature creative reinventions of classic Southern dishes, from fish and miso grits with ginger-soy butter to seasonal vegetable curries over beds of Carolina Gold rice.
