Originally on the path to work in the medical field, Chef Aaron Kulzer made a pivotal shift to the culinary arts, driven by a profound belief in the healing power of hospitality. Chef Aaron sees food as a means to nourish his guests, a passion that has been vividly illustrated over the years cooking across the country’s South. Before joining Highlands Supper Club, Aaron honed his craft in diverse culinary environments. His early experiences include working at Mar Vista Dockside Restaurant and Pub in Longboat Key, Florida, and Cora’s at the White House Hotel in Biloxi, Mississippi. Under the mentorship of Chef Jeremy Noffke, Aaron learned to elevate Southern cuisine, blending upscale sophistication with casual comfort. Aaron’s culinary philosophy centers around the principles of sourcing fresh, sustainable, and local ingredients. At Highlands Supper Club, Chef Kulzer will oversee a menu relying on ingredients from local producers like 3 Barn Farm in Franklin, NC, for produce and eggs, and Providence Farmstead in Otto, NC, for premium beef. As Chef Aaron Kulzer prepares to bring his skill and culinary approach to Highlands Supper Club in early September, diners can look forward to a culinary experience that blends the warmth of a rustic getaway with the sophistication of expertly crafted dishes. Aaron grew up in Southern Mississippi and currently resides in Sylva, NC.
