Originally from Germantown, MD, Cannon’s culinary journey began with waking up to her mother’s heavenly baked goods. Inspired by her mother’s knack and passion for baking, Cannon enrolled in to L’Academie de Cuisine, where she studied Pastry Arts. Throughout her career, Cannon has honed her skills with roles as a Chocolatier at The Perfect Truffle in Frederick, MD, Pastry Cook at Black Salt in Washington, D.C., and Assistant Pastry Chef at Canyon Kitchen in Sapphire, NC, gaining valuable experiences and techniques as she rose in the ranks.
Cannon’s innovative and imaginative approach to crafting desserts sets her apart, as she continuously seeks to exceed expectations by reinventing childhood recipes and experimenting with fresh ideas. Joining the team at Oak Steakhouse has been a thrilling adventure for Cannon with constant opportunities to utilize ingredients local to the Highlands region, create seasonal menus, and collaborate with guest chefs visiting the property for Skyline’s signature “Under the Stars, On the Rocks” dinner series. With her creativity, and attention to detail, she finds joy in sharing her love of sweets with desserts that tell captivating stories on every plate.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time on the dock of her pond, kayaking, and trying new restaurants
