Common Thread is an inventive, ingredient-driven restaurant with a commitment to purposefully sourced, seasonal cuisine. The name Common Thread is a nod to the relationship between the restaurant’s six partners, who emphasize creating community through food. Following the success of the group’s first restaurant, FARM Bluffton, Common Thread opened in a historic home in Savannah’s Thomas Square neighborhood in January 2021. The building, dating to 1897, retains much of its original charm as well as a new wood-burning hearth that acts as the restaurant’s focal point. Since its debut, Common Thread has quickly gained traction as a dining destination for locals and visitors alike, with accolades including being named one of the Best New Restaurants in America by Bon Appétit in September 2022. Chefs Carter and Harrison bring a curious approach to the menu, which features dishes that highlight Georgia’s native ingredients that transform seasonal produce, seafood, and meats into bold, flavorful plates. The bar menu, helmed by Bar Manager James Nowicki, offers produce-forward cocktails to accompany the vegetable heavy menu. The wine list, curated by Wine Director/General Manager Libby Burk, explores wines by the glass and bottles from around the world, with a special focus on lesser-known grape varietals.
