Bhavin Chhatwani

Tamasha Modern Indian

Bhavin Chhatwani – a 2025 James Beard Foundation “Emerging Chef” nominee and Plate Magazine “Chef to Watch” of 2024 – brings a wealth of exceptional culinary experience from around the globe. Originally from Udaipur, Rajasthan, in the Western part of India, he was recruited by co-owners Mike Kathrani and Tina Vora to lead North Carolina’s most elevated and modern Indian restaurant yet.

Prior to Tamasha, Chhatwani served at San Francisco’s Taj Campton Place – the world’s only Two MICHELIN starred Indian restaurant at the time, at just 26 years old. A proud alumnus of India’s most elite chef training program, the Taj Management Training Program, Chhatwani gained expertise at some of India’s most celebrated properties including luxury Taj-owned properties and their signature restaurants throughout India.  Among the most notable, Chhatwani was the chef at the Taj Wellington Mews, as well as for a Taj Five-Star hotel property in Chennai, and led the team at The Oberoi in Trident, Chennai, and at Taj Falaknuma Palace in Hyderabad, India, where their specialty restaurant, Adaa at Taj Falaknuma Palace was recognized as one of India’s top restaurants.

Today Chhatwani continues his mission to elevate Indian cuisine to global prominence at Tamasha Modern Indian in Raleigh, North Carolina.
